i just got my bike this week. my first tank netted me 78+ mpg. your 74 doesn't sound out of line to me.

Beautiful Dana! I just bought the same bike a 2001 GZ250 same color as yours. It has a lil over 2,300 miles on it and is in good condition. I paid 1,000.00 you got a great price, Congrats! Mine only has one seat so I am on the look out for a back seat, sissy bar, and saddle bags. Happy riding! :2tup:

Beautiful bikes! I have the same year but red. Banged up a bit but runs like a top - $900. I bought a 2005 vulcan 500 and enjoy the heck out of it, but when I want to have some fun in the "twisties" I turn to the GZ. It is also my commuter........

This is a great place with good people for help/ ideas BTW. Water Warrior is at the top of the class IMO, but we wouldn't want him to know that :whistle:

Hi Dana, your bike looks great. Welcome to the forum and by the way, your mileage sounds about right. I averaged right at 70 mpg on my GZ and I obviously outweigh you by a lot, so 74 mpg sounds right on the money to me. I'm glad you are enjoying riding.

I don't know if everyone realizes it but approximately 12 days after Dana got her GZ she traded it in on another bike.
