True true, but I don't think Mrs Baseball would be too happy with the 4,600km round trip this weekend just for a photo of Uluru with the GZ in the foreground. I think I'll just wait till the next one comes up.

are we now going to loosen the definition a bit ???? Maybe just an old tombstone? AND maybe suggest that you don't have to get THAT close ?? I'm sure there are places that having your bike OFF the designated road would get you into a world of trouble.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
Well, Easy, I said that after 24 hours any gravestone of someone who was born before 1800 would do. It's been 24 hours. That's BORN before 1800. You could have a stone dated close to 1900 if someone lived a long time. I don't think there are too many places where that should be much of a problem.
As for getting close, the rules of this game say that you have to have the object and your bike, or some part of your bike in the photo. As I read that, you could be in the road, and the grave quite a ways away. I would suggest that, just to allay any doubts anyone might have, you also include a supporting close up photo showing the dates on the grave, much as you did with the plaque with your war memorial. As an alternative, you could photograph the grave in the foreground with your bike back at the road, as long as it's in the photo. There's no rule that says the bike has to be in front of the object. Heck, this should be an easy one now.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
dhgeyer has stated the rules correctly. The bike/part of it just needs to be in the frame somewhere.
As for the tag, I considered the <1800 birthdate to be the tag from the start. It's just hard to find a cemetery that old around here. Doesn't mean I'm not looking.

So, Easy, ya' wanna' know where there's some real old graves near you? Probably find what you're looking for if the kids haven't thrown 'em in the river.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
There's an old confederate cemetery right next to a Harley Dealer in Chattanooga, I'll be going that direction in the morning but I won't be able to post until tomorrow night. Gotta be a few of those boys born before 1800.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
I rode around for about 45 minutes today, through 4 cemeteries and there was nobody earlier than 1860. I know of another old indian cemetery about 50 miles away, but I'm not making it to that one any time soon.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
I don't think we became a state until, like 1848 or something.... Or was that Texas?

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
OK was official in 1907...and the indians didn't keep their bodies in the ground until they were overwhelmed and turned to the white man's ways.
