FOG
Alan and Busy,
Did you guys ride to work in the fog this morning? It was nasty for my ride in. Most folks were leaving space between them and everybody else, but I had one guy in a Dodge Ram pickup who wanted to tail gate me for a bit. Even on a clear day he would've been too close. I moved out've his way as soon as I could I could see that it was clear and he roared past me into the fog. People are crazy. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I really hate those taligaters while I'm on the saddle. They might don't know how dangerous it is for the bike/bikers. I got some of the similar situations, and mostly I let them pass me when the riding situations are not for the some throttle-up; like on the canyon curvers/twisters. Sometimes, I do throttle up and go faster than those cage can handle and make some distance for myself. Most of cages could not follow the my current bike; kind of sport-bike performance it has. With GZ, I don't think that's good idea >> just let them pass it otherwise it's too dangerours. Anyway, riding under the FOG is not pleasant...

Re: FOG
Fog scares me. I can and will slow down to a safe speed but there is always that doofus coming up from behind at an unreasonable speed that is best left for ideal conditions. Overdriving your vision is the same as overdriving your headlights at night, a very poor practice that can hurt.

Re: FOG
In really dense fog you've got to hope they see your taillight and don't run you down. Bright colored clothing with reflectors help too. It would be a good case for a blinking taillight or strobe but that's probably illegal.

Re: FOG
Moe,
I don't usually head in until around noon and it was clear by then...

Re: FOG
not during night, during the day I dare only when the road is not wet, sometime the fog does not wet the road that much (at least at some places). i do not start a ride if its raining, if caught in the rain i drive cautiously. this was just to take pics. it was kind of romantic during the night . it was dense but as you move in the fog it was not that dense could see upto 200 yards.
