crack in exhaust pipe

I have a crack/hole in my exhaust right at the first curve, near the head. I've left it for a while without fixing because it makes the bike slightly louder....
Would it make a difference in performance, or anything else, if I got it patched up?

Thanks for your input.

Might but probably wouldn't as long as it stays fairly small.
The bad news is that the only way to really fix it is a weld or braze, neither of which will be very pretty.

That's kind of an unusual condition. Any idea of why there is a hole there?
How old is the bike?

Re: crack in exhaust pipe

The bike is a 1999. I imagine it's from stress in the bend.
