hi new on here,
the girlfriends after a gz250, she,s got a gz125
am i right in thinking they are the same bike with just the engine swapped , or is there more to it?

i was wondering because the little lady really would like to keep her bike and just upgrade the engine to 250,
i dont think it will be viable, but there arnt many 250,s in england, just the 125,s (learner legal)

Nice to have another Englishman on the forum, although I've been living in Tenerife for the last 6 years. Whereabouts are you? I'm an Englishman by birth, & a Yorkshireman by the grace of God!
By the way, you'd better tell these other guys on here what the M.O.T. is. I'll bet they don't know. Over here it's called the I.T.V., & you need the first one at 4 yrs, then once every 2 yrs up to 10 yrs old, then every yr. after that.

i live in yorkshire, 10mile from leeds,iv been to tenerife, lovely, more a lanzarote man though (puerto del carman) gettin old i think'
got a house by the black sea too, (nr varna in bulgaria)
id rather be there all the time, , heat, beauty , and medivel stuff abounds
did a trip there on the bike last year , not this year though, the pound/euro is f*ckd

I used to work all around your area (electrician). Where are you exactly? Just idle curiosity, but I've got my "Driver's Atlas Britain" with me, & just rarin' to go, to look it up.
To you Americans - being a Yorkshireman is something like being a Texan. We refer to Yorkshire as "God's own county"
As for the pound/euro thing, I know exactly what you mean. Our pensions are paid in pounds, & sent to our bank, here, as euros. What with price increases as well as the fall in the exchange rate, & link it to a very small increase in pensions, & in the 6 years we've been here our spending power has dropped by 50% in real terms. Whereas at first we were "comfortable", now we have to be very careful with our budget.
At the moment the rain is beating down like a monsoon - they say it's the worst winter for 35 years - but when I see the conditions in England (with another 10" of snow expected) I still don't regret retiring here for a moment.
Oh, by the way, M.O.T. is "Ministry of Transport" That's the way everyone refers to the annual inspection that all vehicles over 3 years old have to undergo in England.

im in knottingly, near pontefract
used to work at BOCM selby,eggborough power station , british gypsum to name a few, now at plasmores, (block paving and breeze block manufacturers, )looking for something else thou, (less hours)

Yes, I know Pontefract. I used to do some work at a dentist's in the town centre. (can't remember the name,now) One of the worst places in the country for traffic wardens waiting to jump out & slap a ticket on the van!
I was born in Sheffield, but spent most of my adult life at Maltby, near Rotherham. I've always been an electrician, but took the P.S.V. (public service vehicle) test, & when there was no work around, I used to go bus driving until things picked up. If you're wanting another job, they're always wanting bus drivers. The only problem is the shift work. I thought about doing a bit of part time bus or coach driving here, but even though the Spanish accept other EEC countries car & bike licences, they won't accept the vocational licences such as P.S.V. & H.G.V. I'd have to take a test here, & I can't be arsed.

most of the wardens gone now, ponte is getting better, castleford is way better though, to be honest england is going down, pricey an too crowded, bulgaria will be looking good for retirement i think,
