New tires...help, please!

Hey, gang;

Brand new here. Time to change the ol' tires. What's a good replacement, something with better performance (grip, wet, etc...)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, BTW: the front is 110/90-16 and the Rear is 130/90-15 (but, you already knew that!)

Thanks!

If Meltzer carries that size, they are a brand that is widely used in the honda shadow community i belong to. Just about everyone there swears by them.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks, Dupo.

I checked them out and they have the sizes in their ME77 Perfect series.

Has anyone tried these and if so, what do you think? Any other suggestions/experience with other brands?

Thanks!

I haven't needed to try new tires yet but to reinforce what Dupo said Metzlers are highly regarded in the Suzuki C50 community too.

Cheers!

The big thing is going to be finding the right size.

I just ordered a set of tires and went with these primarily because I could get them in the correct sizes for both front and rear.

M906602 Cheng Shin C906 110/90H16
M907501 Cheng Shin C907 130/90H15

I already have them on one bike and have been very happy with them. I think the rear tire is better than the stock Metzler especially i the rain. I've got more than 5,000 miles on the first one riding in all sorts of weather. They worked so well that when my wife needed new tires I ordered more. I ride my bike hard in all kinds of weather. My peg feelers are worn down to where you can see the metal on the inside.

Spending extra money on a high performance tire for a GZ250 is a waste of money. These tires (maybe all tires) greatly exceed the capability of a GZ250.

I bought them here: http://www.kgmotorcycletires.com/

They have other tires as well as tubes.

Thanks for all the info, gang! I'll stop by a shop that seems to have them both and compare. Really appreciate the info.

Thanks!

Has anyone tried the Cheng Shin Street Sharks? I know these are more of a "sportier" tread, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with them and what they thought of them.

Thanks for the info!

I have to agree with BadBob. I am on my second rear Cheng Shin C907. I put around 9,000 miles on the first one and was very pleased with it. I just bought my second one from Chaparral Motorsports ( www.chaparral-racing.com ) for $45.99 shipped! :2tup:
