1st to 2nd trouble

Sometimes (not all the time) when I take off and I'm changing from 1st to 2nd it just doesn't want to go, it's like it's stuck there. Sometimes I need to give it a good lift with the foot to get it to move and sometimes I have to just let the clutch back out and try it again but it seems to be happening more and more. Have only had the bike about 4 months, 2006 model. It apparently came to me with a fairly new clutch.

Any ideas?

Check your clutch adjustment - if its pulling a when disengaged, it gets hard to shift.

It's also a little further to shift from 1 to 2 then to the other gears, because it passes by the neutral position.
