Missing Air Filter

Had only driven my '09 GZ250 around town till last week. Got her out on the road this week and got up to 5th gear, but was not able to get above 45mph. In fact at the top of each gear it would start spluttering and losing power. Only 200 miles since service/inspection. (It had 9 miles on the speedo when I bought it 18 months ago). Started looking around and noticed the Air filter was missing. Guessing this is the cause of my power loss. Does the filter come with a cover and four screws? If not what size screws are needed? What is the best Air Filter to purchase?
Thanks in advance.

I would go with the OEM Suzuki Air Filter. That way you have the right balance of air and fuel that will optimize the performance of your GZ. Be warned, they are pricey. About $45 a pop. Not sure of the screw size. It comes with the end cap that mounts it in the box.

This Hi-flo filter is for the GS500 but fits the 250 at a fraction of the price,

Thanks for the replies guys. I pickup the OEM filter at Partzilla.com for $30 and 1.20 each for the screws. $42 with shipping. I will post back when installed to see if performance improves.
