2005 GZ no neutral light
New battery, good starter relay and fuses. No neutral light and starter switch does not activate starter. All wires and connectors look intact. Bike will start if starter relay terminals jumped. My next test is to replace the ignition switch. Any ideas or suggestions?

Check clutch lever switch - clutch has to be depressed and switch working for starter to get powered. Check neutral light bulb and than switch using multimeter.

Hi bob. Don't start throwing new parts at the bike yet. It may be easily fixed with little cost. First I would check the start button with a meter for proper contact in the start button. It just may need cleaning up. Spray some Contact Cleaner in there and cross your fingers for luck.

2005 GZ no neutral light/starter switch does not work
Temporarily hooked up new ignition switch. Still no neutral light or headlight. Bike will start if starter relay is jumped, then headlight and neutral light come on. All fuses good. What is left besides an exorcism?

So did something change that caused this problem? Did you work on the bike prior to the problem? Sorry I don't have much to offer but maybe there was something you might think of that started this whole problem.

Looking at the wiring diagram, it shows that the battery +ve goes straight to the starter relay, with a fuse tapped in, which goes to the ignition switch etc. So it's starting to look like your problem's in the starter relay itself. Note - If you change the starter relay, be sure to put the two thick cables to the same terminals that you took them off. If you reverse them, the system won't work, because the +ve will be on the wrong side of the relay coil (one side of the thick wire (from the battery) goes to the side of the terminal that feeds to the voltage regulator, ignition switch and lights etc) Before you decide to swap the starter relay, it might help to give it a thorough going over, to check for any obvious faults.
