Clutch Release Arm has no tension.
Hi im new to this bike and forum
As usual my first post is about a problem I cant sort out after hours of research. I have a 07 that I snapped the clutch cable after putting on shorter handlebars. Like dumb but i can fix that and reroute the cable. Heres the problem, the clutch release lever on the engine is completely loose and has no tension. It doesnt spin around but no resistance or spring closed. It opens and closes the clutch still but no retract to closed. Is this normal? Did I break something in clutch, release rod or something else? The clutch still works as i can put her in gear and not be able to roll & opposite in neutral. Looking at the service manual, posts on here, and the internet i cant seem to make sense of where i need to go or what i may have broken. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! . You're not an idiot. You were just worried. Is normal too.
Do keep some play in the cable, i.e. your clutch lever should flop around freely say 5-10 mm at its end.
