Now I'm excited!!!

Hi everyone, my name is Oscar and I just purchased my new to me 2007 gz250 on Monday! I am happy I found a whole community of awesome peeps with passion for the gz250! A coworker of mine told me he was selling his motorcycle, I had no idea what it was since I have little to no experience with motorcycles. He told me it doesnt run and had no idea how to fix it or where to start. I told him I was interested in taking a look at it, maybe I could take it off his hands. I'm a fix it yourself kinda guy so i was confident I could get it back up and running again. Once I got a good look at it I made an offer with worst case scenario in my head and it stuck! A home Depot truck later it was in my back patio waiting to be explored  I started checking the battery and electrical components, fuses, etc. and I wasn't able to get an encouraging sound out of it. So I slept on it (not the actual bike, but the ideas of diagnostics) and the next morning I gave it a good wash and began taking piece by piece off. I got to the spark plug and when I pulled it out i noticed the tip was smashed in and also the piston itself had some scars from hitting the plug. That's as far as I've gotten, i know the road ahead of me contains replacing and or repairing the main engine components (cylinder, head, piston, rod, crankshaft, etc.) So this is my adventure and I am looking forward with much enthusiasm and excitement! I will post pics in the repair topic of this great forum! Sorry for the loooooonnnnnnngggggg intro
