CLUTCH QUESTION!!

hey guys, please allow me to introduce myself before i go picking at your brains. my name is jason and i reside in las vegas nevada where i am curently employed with sprint. I have a 1999 gz250 that was bought from a ailing friend who recently passed. need-less to say, this bike now means alot to me.
Now to the point, i was cruising down the highway at about 75mph when i hear a loud band coming from somewhere between my crotch, i figure "aww crap!!!". i slowly merge over to the right hand side of the freeway to find that i had blown my clutch cover and probably took out my clutch at the same time. so my question is this, i found a clutch and clutch cover on ebay but they came off a 2002 gz250. will the clutch and the clutch cover of a 2002 fit on my 1999? any help or suggestions to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. i will post pictures of my actual cover tonight when i get off of work.
