Clutch cable replacement HELP

Hi, there.
I got my clutch snapped out from clutch-bar after all day long ride.
As begginer, I tried to make up but couldn't do any thing.
TOWed......expensive, but no other way to get out from situation.

My questions are..
1. Is it possible to ride without clutch cable is working?
2. Is it possible replace clutch cable without going to bike-shop? (mine is already scheduled with bike shop, but if possible I like to do by myself... to save money)
3. What kind of Tools are needed for GZ250 quick maintenences?
4. more, more, more questions.......for the next coming lessons I will learn.

Thanks in advance everybody.
