Fuel petcock feed elbow

Hi there,
Its almost time for my annual trip to Florida! I dewinterized my 99 250 and the petcock is leaking around the rotating selector valve. Thats an easy fix once I procure an O ring, but the 90 deg elbow slides out of the petcock a bit too easily. Is that supposed to do that??? It don't appear to be broken, just slides out.

I rebuilt my petcock not long ago and I don't remember that piece coming out. If you take it apart, you'll likely have to replace the little diaphragm because it'll get all torn up from being in one place for so long. Did you wind up taking it apart?
