just bought a suzuki 250 the odometer reads 5000 miles, battery totally dead, bought new battery, it cranked up, ran for 10 minutes then shut of, i think i have carb issues, what steps should i take?taking to dealer out of questions have tools and i think i can fix it my self, but i would appreciate some support please, like should i but a rebuild kit or maybe just clean, engine looks very clean, person i got it from says, it hasn't been driven in two years.

Sounds like a pretty easy fix. First get yourself a battery tender to charge up your new battery fully. It needs it or you will be shopping for another in a while. Second is easy too. Go to your local auto parts store and buy some Seafoam. Replace the old gas in the tank with new gas and some Seafoam mixed according to the instructions on the can. Check the tire pressures and go for a ride after an overnight charge on the battery.
