What carburetor parts are needed to rebuild one?

Last fall I purchased a 2005 GZ250 as a learner bike. However, I have had issues with it because the bike was not well taken care of by the previous owner(s). One major problem is the carburetor needs to be rebuilt and I can’t find a kit anywhere. No matter where I searched, nothing came up.

First question: what individual parts do I order? Due to time constraints, my husband would like to tear it down and rebuild at the same time without having to wait for parts.

Second question: while discussing this problem with a carburetor repair shop, it was mentioned that the Mikuni BSR32SS has a rubber diaphragm(s) which may be difficult to seat. Although my husband has rebuilt a number of small engine carburetors, I was wondering how difficult/time consuming the over hall would be.

Third question: it was mentioned by the shop that other carburetor(s) can replace Mikuni which does not have the as complicated internal parts. Has anyone tried this and how did it turn out?

Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated!
