Rode With Disc brake lock on: Speedo does not work: Advice ?

My girlfriend decided to take the bike (1999) herself :poke2: and , tried to start with the lock on the front disc brake,but realised soon and turned it off

this resulted in the speedo not working.

I have noticed that the speedo cable that goes in on the hub looks a bit misplaced,

But the bike is fine in all other aspects on the front wheel

could anyone please advice on what could have happened and what is the worst case scenario.
