Welcome and great have you. Your wife will love the GZ. Lynda, my SO bought her GZ as a 1st bike and had a wonderful time perfecting her skills and muscle memory.
If the bike is too tall in the saddle at a stop the rear can be lowered slightly(different shocks) and the forks should be able to be raised in the clamps a wee bit.
Gotta love big parking lots. Been there done that with Lynda.
