Six months is a long time to wait for almost anything. Obviously you don't want or haven't the time to fix the bike yourself. Not being critical here. There are some things I have always left up to the pros to do when I haven't the time or energy. By all means find another shop and drop off the bike. With luck you will be having some summer riding long before the leaves start to fall.
