Re: NINJA 250R 2007+
I had a 2006 Ninja 250, and it was a lot of fun. I wanted to get a sportbike and see what it was all about and get it out of my system. Quicker than the GZ, more nimble, very solid and reliable - a totally different feel and ride to the bike, different riding position but very comfortable Just remember, it's a different style bike altogether. They are a twin cylinder high revving engine, a 6 speed trans, but also get 65 mpg, In the year and a half I had the bike, I never had even a hint of trouble or problem with it and I sold it for more than I paid for it. Like with the GZ's, there is very little difference among the model years except for some very slight styling changes, and many owners actually prefer the mechanicals of the older ones compared to the more recent models. Don't be put off by the fact that's it's only a 250 - that bike will keep up with anything in the twisties, and you can ride it on the highway at 65-70 all day, maybe push it a little higher for a short period or change the gearing if that's what you want to do with it. You can get a good used low mileage one for 1/2- 1/3 the price of a new one. I liked that bike but moved upwards and onwards to another one, which is a sickness we all have for a while.
Go to ninjette.org, it's a great informative and friendly forum, almost as good as this one.
