Yes, but they weren't GZs! The charging system is so puny, it just won't happen. The handbook says to charge at 0.7Amp for 5-10 hours, & this is good advice. Why run the bike for ½ hour (with the cost of fuel!) & gain not very much in the way of a full charge (plus risking the damage to the bike due to lack of airflow) when you can get the correct tender/charger for around $15-20? Sounds a bit redneck to me.
