Re: My first cross county ride

Hi there, & welcome to the madhouse.

You're not on your own with your concerns about highway riding. I've been riding for over 45 years, and had the Geezer for nearly 4 years. I'm still not happy with riding on the autopista, with its 120 km/hr (75 mph) limit. The bike is too light to take the potholes in its stride, & riding at full throttle, with nothing in reserve, isn't very confidance inspiring. Luckily most of my riding is on 50 km/hr (30 mph) roads, often with heavy traffic, so I don't use the autopista much. If I upgraded to something that would cruise comfortably at 75 mph, it would still have to be highly monouverable for the other 99%, so, at the moment its the IDEAL bike for my usage. I still use it as my primary transport & workhorse (the car sits in the garage most of the time) so I hope you get as much enjoyment out of your Geezer as I do. I'll just add that my European bike has more power than the American bikes, as your emission laws mean that it's set up with a weaker mixture. When you get used to the bike, you might consider doing the mods, to bring the power up. :2tup:
