Reckon you should be able to ride all year round, like me, & unlike the Americans & Canadians on this site. :2tup:
I am Christchurch which is South Island (and still getting lots of aftershocks, 3000 as of last night - I wonder what it is like to ride in an earthquake, I guess I'll find out soon enough!!!).

I reckon I will be able to ride all year, provided I don't mind getting wet. There no snow (except very rarely), and on the few days there is an overnight frost it is gone by 8.30-9. So that leave the 9 months a year when it can go from brilliant blue sky to rain in 10 minutes, and back again to sun again via gale winds. In the spring the locals joke that if you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes.

Regarding the miners - whilst nobody is saying anything, it's now been 3 days and no-one has entered the mine due to the high levels of methane gas - that can't be good.......
