THAT is the most important point.
Recent events SHOULD make everyone think twice about this......but it probably won't.
In my local area, the BMW bike shop just closed. Now BMW owners have to go close to 90 miles for an authorized shop.
Except for Harley, there is only ONE other bike shop in town. Last fall they reduced their hours. From the looks of the showroom floor (the bikes sitting there haven't changed much since early spring), I'd say that they aren't doing real good at the moment.
If that shop should close up, a LOT of riders will be up the proverbial creek without a boat; some of them, no doubt, are the same ones that get all of their bags, windshields, helmets, riding gear, etc. "over the net" and don't think beyond saving a few pennies.
