The TU250 has the same engine bottom as the GZ250, and the same gearbox, clutch, etc. The cylinder is different, it has 2 valves instead of 4, and is fuel injected (closed loop with catalytic converter) instead of carburated. The frame is different, but if you start looking closely, you'll see a lot of common components. Power output and speed are close to the same. It is indeed a standard, not a cruiser.

It got a fantastic writeup in Motorcycle Consumer News. They said it could hold its own in the twisties against bikes with much larger displacements, just because it handles so well. They said the power delivery is very even and smooth due to the well executed fuel injection system. I looked at one at a local dealership. Beautiful looking thing. Looks a lot like some of the classic British singles from the good ole' days. Oh, do I want one!
