Welcome to the club. I bought an older, essentially new bike too, glad yours runs well as mine does.
Just maybe replace your tires now, even with only 975 miles on them. Yours are now 7 years old, take a look at the sidewalls for checks and cracks, the tire rubber in general gets hard, they don't have the same grip on the road as newer ones. Your safety depends on those tires.
If the bike is running well, just maybe run some Seafoam or Berryman's 12 through a tankful of new fuel and you should be fine with nothing else to do except the next oil change.
