For my birthday, I decided I wanted to buy a motorcycle. So I looked around and found this:
The guy selling it wasn't more than 30 minutes from my home town, so it was pretty easy to get there. I bought it for $1550. The insurance from Progressive costs $245
per year. I was paying almost $1200 per year driving my Mitsubishi 3000GT.
I just completed a 155 mile trip from my home town back to my apartment. It cost me under $2 to drive that whole way. I did hit a little storm, but I pulled off at a trucker stop to wait it out, and it cleared up. I did get a little sun burnt though.
