Well whoever is complaining about the filter oil leaking are probably putting too much oil on the filter.

I run a K&N on my shadow in the hypercharger. I've never had a trace of oil anywhere it shouldnt be. The oil is just a spray that turns sticky kinda like our chain lubes. You spray it on the outside of the filter to trap dirt particles.

I think K&N Filters are great ... not to mention you don't have to replace them. Just wash out, let dry and re-spray.
