You could not have made a better choice for a first bike.............well maybe you could have but the import taxes from Mars are way out out of line. Sounds like your riding area will be just perfect for you and the bikes abilities. About boots: Yup, go to the bike show and try on as many boots as possible and don't buy any. Determine which feel the best, have wicking material in the lining, insulation and armour etc. Then order on-line from the U.S. You can save many $$ even after shipping. Just be sure the boots come USPS. UPS and other parcel services will want an arm and a leg for brokerage fees. Check out New Enough.Com out of Texas. They have a very good reputation and return policy if things don't work out.
