Re: Hi New bike owner from colorado

MissKim... What part of Colorado are you in? My wife and I live down in the Dolores area. I can't say I see too many GZs around here since we're over 7000 feet. Welcome!

Re: Modifying Jets in GZ Carburetor

I looked up the kit from 6 sigma and the only kit I could find that they sell for the GZ250 only includes the main jet. They also include a few things that wouldn't make much sense for our bikes,...

Re: Quick air filter question

Just don't forget to empty the float bowl before you remove the screws. It's not tragic if you forget, but it is messy.

Just back out this screw (upper arrow) a little and the fuel will drain out...

Re: any one ever look like this the first time you got on a bike

Man... I'm glad the guy in the second one doesn't live in the states so I don't have to worry about running into his dumb ass on the road.

Re: Carb problems following needle shim mod

I haven't been loosing sleep over it (thankfully) but unfortunately it'll be pretty pointless to shine her up until my wife and I move next week. The GZ lives outside and is covered but still seems...

Re: Carb problems following needle shim mod

I'm not sure where I read it on here, but I'd swear I read that 91 octane was the way to go. I will dump the gas and refill with 87. I'm really glad to know that. Thanks mrlmd1. After doing a search...

Re: Carb problems following needle shim mod

And what exactly makes you think that I am doing anything different than that ??

Nothing in my post was nasty or demeaning. Responding in that fashion will certainly encourage others to offer...

Re: My 2006 GZ mods ...

Are you mad, my good fellow? "wives" & "understanding" can NEVER be used in the same sentence!  (I've just checked that she wasn't looking over my shoulder while I typed this ...

Re: Carb problems following needle shim mod

One thing at a time....ONLY ONE. Why the Seafoam in the gas??
You should NOT have started any mods if it wasn't running right in the first place.

And all the "performance" mods make it run...

Carb problems following needle shim mod

Well, I did the needle shim mod today and it made my bike run like crap. It jerked and didn't want to rev smoothly. Not sure if the higher altitude made it run too rich after the mod or not, but that...

Re: kuryakyn iso grips and wing pegs

I pull a ton of those c-clips off at work. I usually just stick a small flat head screwdriver in one of the two slots that are opposite the opening and pry it off. I've never damaged one doing it...

Re: My 2006 GZ mods ...

Isn't that what I said ??? :poke2: [/quote]

I'm an idiot... I read your post 3 or 4 times and every time read it in my head as " a little more speed from 5th." Not "a...

Link removed... Guy got banned... but the product name was still in the thread. I had to google it. Didn't see anything about a tennis ball, but found out what the "Undisclosed Object of Great...

Re: Installing Saddlebags

I'm with you Tranquility. My bags were nothing but frustration for a while. I ended up spending a TON of time modifying them to work properly with the bike. (The dude I bought the bike from threw...

Re: My 2006 GZ mods ...

Perhaps I should clarify that I don't have the 16 tooth sprocket on yet. I bought it, but have not installed it yet. I do use 5th through the hills and it pulls up them well at 55 to 60. I'm not sure...

Re: My 2006 GZ mods ...

A little clarification might be in order. Are you climbing those mountains in 4th NOW, with the stock gearing? If so, the 16T would definitely help get you a little more speed from 4th.

If,...

Re: 2008 GZ - stock - for sale

Looks pretty good to me. I've always noticed that things sell better when the seller takes the time, like you did, to use complete sentences. I get so tired of those adds that people post that say...

Re: First morning commute to work on the GZ

That's great! Congrats on the commute. Somehow it' easier to justify all the time and money spent on add ons when the GZ can be viewed as practical rather than just a toy. At least, that's what I'm...

Re: Wanted: Stock Handlebars

I appreciate it adrian! I'd probably just pick up something new before I went that route. I'm not too attached to the fit of the bike as is, but wouldn't mind staying stock. I think if I had to have...

Wanted: Stock Handlebars

I've noticed that a few folks have been switching their bars out. Mine have a small bend to them from the previous owner laying the bike down. The stock bars are pretty comfy for me so does anyone...
