The new bikes transmission also requires some break-in time as bike-engine needs.
After break-in time, first gear engagement will be on smooth.

TW200 is a pretty economical (and off-road noob likes me) bike to enjoy the dirt in my opinion.

Well, 37F is roughly 3C (a little above freezing point of water).
86F is about 30C
I always use 20C = 68F as a reference, as that was the temp all the fluids had to be at to process black and...

The bike seems still in the break-in period, IMHO..
Just guessing, previous owner might not had treated well enough on the break-in maintenances.
