Per Easy Riders recommendation, I have been experimenting a little with shifting at higher speeds and yes I can definitely shift at much higher speeds than the recommended ones except for first gear....

Houston area day trips with GZ250 riders

Wasn't the lone star rally in Galveston moved to December? I am hoping to go with another friend who rides a Honda.

Thanks for the chatter. I was having a similar problem but mine did not return to normal after a few seconds of idling. I adjusted the idle and that seems to have fixed it.

Easy Rider, you mentioned "the maximum performance in each gear to help keep you out of trouble."
Is there a standard range for maximum gear performance? I'm finding my bike seems to follow close...

I'm curios, when is a newbie not a newbie. I have only had my bike for 2 months - anniversary today - but I have put a little over 500 miles on the bike.

Thanks so much for all this discussion. I have been riding a couple months and was worried because wind and speed unnerved me. I have noticed that in the beginning 40 felt "fast enough" and now "50"...
