All good questions, actually.

1) Yes and kind of. Whatever method makes the fewest lumps and bumps.
2) Yes, then re-attach the seat. It might be a little difficult to get all the bolts threaded...

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm new to this forum. I just bought a 2005 GZ250 with 600 miles on it. This will be my commute bike for back and forth to work.
