You might have a petcock diaphragm with a hole in it or the vacuum hose from the petcock to the carb going bad or loose. Fuel flow depends on good vacuum. Best I can come up with. Good luck.

Check your air filter, throttle cable, vacuum...

Check your air filter, throttle cable, vacuum hose from petcock, and did you use higher octane gas. Also check your spark plug. These are some of my best guesses. Hope it helps.

Regarding batteries, I spent the extra cash and bought a lithium ion unit for my GZ. That was 5 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat. They are pricey though. I believe I paid about $120 for it....

You might consider one more thing. The fuel cap is not venting and after running for a bit, a vacuum is created in the fuel tank and won't allow free flow of fuel. Just another thing to check.
