OK, I have been stupid. Its not enough to find the vacuum hose, it has to be connected on both ends. It got disconnected somehow. I plugged it back and and the motorcycle starts instantly.

Now...

Thanks everyone.

I added some Sea Foam to the fuel, and now the bike will run for longer after a couple of seconds in PRI position, but it still dies.

Found the vacuum hose - what should I be...

I can only get my GZ250 started if I put the fuel switch into PRI position for at least 5 seconds.

Then it runs for a couple of minutes, starts sputtering, and stops. It will not get started...
