The fuel economy of the stock bike was around 61 mpg. It's true that now I cruise at quite higher speeds, and the fuel economy has dropped to 54 mpg.

You should check the carburetion after modifying the exhaust, as the bike will be leaner somewhere in the rpm range and, in any case, your GZ may lose performance because of a lack of backpressure.

Be careful. In most cases, idling doesn't generate enough power in the alternator and instead of recharging the battery, you'll be draining it (lights are always on, at least in my GZ).

The equivalent to the mixture screw is the "pilot screw", #13 in the diagram. It enrichens the mixture when turning it out too....
