Re: Lori and her sister
Sorry pig. There's just certain topics that we can't shut up about. And when someone doesn't mention them for a while, they gotta be injected into the thread so we can all weigh in with the same...

Re: Lori and her sister
Well I agree with Sarris. I pretty much was going to not post on this site anymore because there are a lot of opinionated busy bodies here. These two women have jackets on and you do not know if...

Re: Highway Bars
I had a look and there is the bolt for the reflector just north of it all so that is not a bad idea. If it tightens it all up and I paint the mounting hardware flat black it would be pretty...

That's a thought. Maybe. I can look into it. Not sure of the appearance of it.

Wow! That is pretty bad. I do not blame him for his fear. I have avoided riding at dusk and night for this very reason.

Re: Muffler Wrap?
All bikes with some miles on them will have that discoloration. I have it a bit on mine. Do you think the white tape will look better? Do you think it will continue to look better as it gets dirty?

If it was the support rope from a tree that caused the deer to up end then I must say that there is no doubt in my mind that I would have been very seriously messed up, and would not be typing these...

The support flanges I made from sturdy 1/8" thick galvanized steel. The main tube is a 3/4" solid threaded steel rod with a rubber tube sleeve. The problem is the flanges are flat steel and are...

Well I made my attempt at low rent crash bars. I think I accomplished moderately good looks but their effectiveness as crash bars leaves much to be desired.

Lucky Rider
So I was riding home this afternoon about 12:30. I am going home on a 45 mph road that is two lanes going south and two lanes headed north. The north south lanes are devided by a grassy strip with...

Re: Highway Bars
For one thing crash bars mount to the same sets of bolts. Crash bars are attached on top of the frame too, but I think that crash bars also would damage the exhaust in a slide. In examining the...

I have since looked and found the make "frame savers" or "sliders" for sport bikes. I did not know about these. They are pegs that jut out to help protect the bike in a lay down. so if it is OK to...

Obviously if it were made from a thin wall tube it is going to simply fold back in a crash. What I am considering is something much sturdier that will not fold back. You may be right. It may...

I am guessing dirt bikers would know best. Though I am guessing they do a whole lot more flopping around with their bikes, while street riders slide. I am looking to do a mod like this in place of...

I am considering a modification like this as opposed to crash bars. What I am interested in knowing is if this simple pipe jutting out constitues a hazzard in a crash.

Re: Highway Bars
I am not so much asking if they will cause a crash, but rather if you have a crash, does this single tube jutting out pose a danger to the rider?

Re: Hello Im a new owner of a GZ250 in MD
To answer your question, yes the jets were replaced on different carbs with good results.
[/quote]
You have contradicted yourself. You said before the carburetors were ruined.

So after these carbs were ruined you thought it might be the jets ruined. Why did you not buy new jets then? They are cheap enough. Did you then go and buy new carburetors to replace these ruined...

So let me get this straight. You have damaged several carburetors and you are not sure how you damaged them.
(note: Nowhere do I say to use a wire on a passage)

I did not make up using a wire to clean a jet. Mechanics told me to do it. So you ruined a jet did you? Hmm. How did you manage that? Actually you said you ruined many good carbs doing...

Re: Hello Im a new owner of a GZ250 in MD
It sounds like you did a pretty good job and it is probably OK. If it is not OK I would question how you cleaned the jets. When things are clogged up the jets take the worst of it and simply...
