white smoke from tail pipe

:???:
No idea what is going on. Bike runs fine. Bike has approx 5500 miles on it.
2005 GZ250 completely stock other than complete top end rebuild with new piston, rings, and gaskets. Entire new top end with all new valves and cam.

Got approx 50 miles into a ride yesterday and this white smoke like a ninja smoke screen started coming out of the tail pipe. The bikes starts and runs perfect.

No idea where to start troubleshooting.

Thanks
Keith

A little more info please. Is the top end a really fresh rebuild. How many miles since the rebuild?

Did you check your oil level? The only thing that comes to mind at the moment is a broken oil ring or a valve guide went south big time.

approx 75 miles has been put on it since the build.

we did find today a hole in the exhaust. will be taking it back apart on Sunday to determine what else could of caused this. The entire thing rebuilt I am unsure where to start.

If it's a little hole on the underside of the exhaust, it's meant to be there, to let any moisture drip out.

Fix it? Why? It's meant to be there! It doesn't need "fixing"! It comes like that from the factory! It's supposed to have the hole, to let moisture out.

Sorry - no this one should not be there.... If it were here would post a pic but at my brothers house.... if you saw it everyone would agree this one needs fixed.

Thanks - Sunday it will be fixed and smoke free.

White smoke sounds odd... Blue smoke I can see as possible oil burning, but white smoke would be indicative on, say a car engine that a head gasket could be the problem.

As for the hole on the bottom of the exhaust, yes probably there to release the water byproduct and prevent rust of the exhaust...

I probably wouldn't plug the hole you have for just that reason. Have you checked the compression?

smell the exhaust (not too long tho;p).u can smell if its oil or something burning up cuz of no lube.did u measure the bore for the right size rings?I'm going by car engines,so I might be wrong, but if the rings r off a lil,or not in the right order,,etc youll get oil in the combustion chamber which will cause smoke.
