just wondering...

Hey all,

Just wondering if it's normal for this bike to take this long to come down to idle after revving. Watch the video to see what I mean.

Seems somewhat normal to me......but I've only owned one and rather recent at that.
So, I'm sure some of our more experienced members will contribute their opinions.

That's totally normal.

Remember, this is a small engine, single cylinder, carburated bike. The immediate drop and steady idle that you may hear on other bikes comes from their fuel injection system and computer control. We don't have that luxury. You're riding a more simplistic and mechanical machine. (I personally think this is more pure.)

That being said, these do come from the factory pretty lean. If you really hate it, you can enrich your mid-range fuel flow by doing what is called a needle shim. (there is a how-to here on the site) Instead of being slightly starving for fuel in the mid range, you'll get be more balanced and the revs will fall slightly faster.
