Mod/Review SPORT-STYLE FAIRING from Jc Whitney

So I decided on that Fairing and it came very quickly Ordered it Sat night and came Wed around 2pm. I got suckered into the buy one more item and get free shipping, I had been wanting new mirrors and saw a decent pair.
Here is the low down.

"It will fit any 7" headlight for my year and make". Wrong the brackets were all kinds of way off, it was made to bolt to the side of the head lamp.

Since I wasn't about to drill holes in my head lamp I tried for about an hour to bend on the bracket mounts, after that and two new holes I achieved success!

Notice the black Mirrors, even tho they are cheap I can see more of the road Hench smaller blind spots.

I think this will be my summer fairing and when it gets cooler I'll get a taller one to block the wind better.
All in all I like the look but am very disappointed in the brackets. In their defense this was on the description.

Quote:

Special Note: Fairing is NOT designed or recommended for installation on cycles with high-mounted-style turn signals that are attached to the headlight mounting bracket. Installation on these cycles would require cutting and drilling of the fairing body sides or the removal or relocation of the turn signals.
So I was prepared for the worst.

I had thought about those universal fairings before but I never bit the bullet to get one. It looks pretty good and seems to have good coverage around the speed-o.
How about a side view?

You may want to add photos of your bracket/mount since it's not straightforward.

Good job,
Jonathan

Fairing

The finished product looks very nice. How does it preform on the road? At your leisure, could you put in a side view picture of your bike with the new mod. CMS

I'm not usually someone who likes to copy other's ideas, but I just like that cafe fairing too much.

I just got one off of E-bay for practically nothing. It was cracked in two places but I should be able to handle it.

I plan on boring mounting holes in the side of the headlight housing.
It should be here in a few days. I'll post pics once it is installed.

It should bring the flow of my bike together nicely, coupled with my curvy trunk box. The flat windshield that I have on there now works fine but something about it just doesn't match.

I'm actually pretty excited about this. I don't normally get like this over appearance mods.
Nice pick up!

I really do like it, and I noticed I can get up to 70 on the H/w a lot easier I guess less wind resistance.

Thanks for the picture, it really looks great! The fairing adds a totally new look to a GZ 250. :rawk: /// CMS
