Hi-Viz vest.

Joined the locals at StarBucks for coffee this afternoon. Had a rider join us who related this story. He always rides wearing an air bag equiped high viz vest. He knows it works and credits the vest for saving his life or preventing serious injury. Last year he was cut off and found himself being launched over the handlebars in an accident. No death and no injuries were the result.
The vest is reuseable with a new compressed air cylinder and just has to be repacked (DIY)according to the owners manual.
I said it doesn't owe you a thing after the mishap and his reply was "I owe it".
Nice to hear of a glowing report about a safety item for riders from an actual rider who lived to tell about it. ATGATT !!! :2tup:

I believe in ATGATT.

A friend was unloading his bike from a rear carrier on his truck.

I was talking and walking backward to get in position to help when,

BAM, I was clipped by the ramp, and down I went.

Still had the jacket on, so no harm.

My old bones don't like to fall anymore.

Funny but hurtful things can happen arounds bikes without even riding them. Loading bikes can be very dangerous in many cases. Glad you weren't hurt.
I was tinkering with the Vstrom one afternoon and sitting on a stool. Changed my position slightly and slipped off the stool. Landing on my hip could have been very serious on hard concrete. At the time I was wearing armored jeans and the hip armor worked well. I thought I was just a pussy to save my knees when kneeling. Lesson learned.

Now tell me what that black beauty is in the pic. I really like the look of it.

wow - airbag vest. I have to look into that.

Also, love that bike! It's not a gz250 is it? If it is, I want that kit.

1984 Honda GB 500 single .

That one he rides, the other one that has less than a hundred miles, well it stays home.

Neat bike.

Neat bike.

I was sort of thinking it was a Honda but wasn't sure. I would throw a leg over that bike in a heartbeat.

No I don't. I will probably just do a Goggle search for air bag vests or similar wording to get some results. I have a memory of webbikeworld.com doing an article on an air bag vest so this may be the same one. At least they may point us in the right direction for more info and test reports.
