Turn signal Issue

Re: Turn signal Issue
I've had intermittent issues with mine, but I didn't put together the particular sequence as described. I'll pay a little closer attention to see if the causes are the same. I though I was getting it working again just by pressing on it repeatedly, but maybe I just stumbled across the magic reset. I do occasionally turn off the bike with them on.

Re: Turn signal Issue
Mine was wonky this morning. Happens every now and then. I have always got it working again by repeatedly punching the 'cancel' just like Alan, but maybe we should just cancel once and leave it alone as you say. I will try this on my way home today. Just watch, it will refuse to misbehave today!

Re: Turn signal Issue
all of you; it couldnt hurt to take apart the switch and clean it with some electrical cleaner

Re: Turn signal Issue
Yes, Geezer, I have used electrical cleaner and it works, fine.
However, I did find something interesting just now. I switched on, activated the turn signal and switched off while the blinker was going. Switching on again, I see no turn signal and the signal will not activate in either direction UNTIL i punch the cancel. I don't have to wait 15 seconds. That much seems to be very consistent on my bike. I think the rest of it comes down to dirty contacts. |
Re: Turn signal Issue
Can't you just remember to cancel the signal with the button and work it like it was supposed to work, then see if it has any problem?
Then you can see if the issue is with the bike or the operator. |
Re: Turn signal Issue
right, haha like they say "problem was the loose nut behind the wheel"

Re: Turn signal Issue
The problem is always with the operator......
Either the operator left the signal on while turning the key off, or the operator didn't clean the contacts enough. The way the relay works seems to be a factor, but nothing proper training, and adequate maintenance can guard against. I'm sure you NEVER forget to cancel your turn signal do you mrlmd1? |
