The Heart Surgeon and the Motorcycle Mechanic.
A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a motorcycle when he spotted a well known heart surgeon in his shop. The surgeon was there waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his bike. The mechanic shouted across the garage,
"Hey Doc, can I ask you a question?" The surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, "So, Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take valves out, fix 'em, put 'em back in and when I finish, it works just like new. So how come I get such a small salary and you get the really big bucks, when you and I are doing basically the same work?" The surgeon paused, smiled and leaned over and whispered to the mechanic ... "Try doing it with the engine running!" :) (Just for you,mrlmd1) |
Re: The Heart Surgeon and the Motorcycle Mechanic.
The Doc has a valid point for the big bucks on payday. The punch line is a really good one though.

Re: The Heart Surgeon and the Motorcycle Mechanic.
Old joke. but still a good one. Originally told to me with an auto mechanic instead of a motorcycle mechanic, but hey, this is a bike forum isn't it?
Keep 'em coming. Let me know if you start to run out and I'll dig into my bag of jokes (and emails). WW- as far as the big bucks on payday - not in this country for many, many years. Medicare pays squat and 80% of the patients for those services were medicare, at least in my practice. Orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, made 3-5X my income. |
Re: The Heart Surgeon and the Motorcycle Mechanic.
That kinda sucks on payday. I guess that is why there are so many specialists in big cities. All I really know is that doctors make my life a lot sweeter and have extended my quality of life beyond what I expected a few years ago.
On that note I will depart and head up to the hospital for my semi-annual blood tests and poking around at sore aching body parts. Dang I hate the fasting part though. I need a pot of coffee and some food. Thankfully my shoulder and chest x-rays yesterday did not require fasting or I would be ready to bite the head off a live chicken right now. |

Not any more -- GONE.

Re: The Heart Surgeon and the Motorcycle Mechanic.
This is great. The classical and most professional approach for repairing the motorcycle is to hire a professional motorcycle mechanic.
