new carb in my 04, what years are compatible????

I need a new carb in my '04 and I don't want to spend $335 to get one from the factory. I would like to know if it matters what year bike the carb is off?

this site says the carb will work on any GZ250 http://www.bikebandit.com/search-produc ... 250%20carb

there is also this one off an 01 on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-SUZ ... _500wt_956

thanks in advance!

thanks! the original was gunked up so i (stupidly) brought it into the dealer to get it cleaned and somehow they broke the small brass screw that lets gas in. i just bought that one on ebay and im going to have a friend help me put it in.

What was their excuise for not replacing it? Save your old one,it may come in handy for extra parts.

the dealer claimed that they didn't know how the screw broke, but, that they suspected it was corrosion and thats why it was stuck. i talked to another shop and they agreed that it was probably broken by the dealer but there is no way to prove it.
