New to GZ 250 Bike
G'day guys, i've been poking around this forum for a couple of weeks now since i bought my marauder (gz250), this site has been very bloody helpful especially the How-To section and has made me consider SLOWLY customising my bike into a bobber, i am still not entirely sure yet, as i have much to learn.. I'm 17 and this is my first bike, but hey.. You've gotta start somewhere.. :rawk: Here's my stock gz.

Re: New to GZ 250 Bike
Welcome aboard. Yours looks like mine's English cousin. (Same colors, but I don't have the marauder decal and your pinstripes are thicker.) Not sure why you'd want to ruin a perfectly good bike, but you are not alone in your quest for bobberdom. Regardless, good luck with your adventures, two wheeled as well as mechanical.

Re: New to GZ 250 Bike
Thanks, I am still assessing whether it is a good idea or not.. for now I want to do simple mods, such as indicators, tachometer and maybe a new exhaust since the previous owner had dropped it ^^ as you can see in the first picture, also notice the nice dent on the bottom right side of the tank :retard:

I have to second alanmcorcoran point. You have a beautiful bike there. But of course what ever floats your boat.
Take heed from this other members project and whether it was worth it or not: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3840 |
Re: New to GZ 250 Bike
Blacks always a good colour
The GZ doesn't have many options by way of changing out the exhaust unless you get one built from scratch pretty much - think theres one on ebay called the screaming eagle but i;m not sure if it's legal where theres sound restrictions and it seems like more trouble than it's worth to get the GZ to sound "bigger" than it is - not that i'm saying you are, it's just thats what most people go for when changing out exhausts Best of luck with it anyway man - theres plenty of bobber projects going on here now anyway Vii |

I know it might sound stupid but did you have to re-adjust/tension the brake and clutch cables when you changed the bars over? :??: |
