New bike - Not new rider

I'm going tommorrow to pick up my new GZ250. I already bought it, and cant wait to ride it. I am not new to riding, I've had bigger cruisers, crotch-rockets, dirt bikes, scooters, a harley. cant say I really miss any of them. i just decided that the GZ250 was what I really wanted. a 250 bike is really all I need anyway. all I really do is ride around town, back and forth to work, and maybe one long ride a year. i know this little bike will do atleast one long ride a year. i'm not into speeding all that much anymore anyway. and as long as this little guy will do 65-70 mph, (and i know it will), then that is just fine with me. the faster you go, the more scenery you miss anyway. so, hello to you all, and glad to be a aprt of the forum.

Glad to have a TRUE rider added to the registry !! :2tup:

I think you have made a fine choice. I took mine on a 1,200 mile trip, including some mountains and it did fine......but some people would have been really pissed 'cause there were times that top speed was 40 or so for a little ways.

Having been on bigger bikes in the past, you may find the handling to be "quick"; I did and it took some time to get used to.

Put a little carb cleaner in her occasionally and keep the chain lubed and you'll be good to go. !! :rawk:

Have fun!

Although mine is up for sale I've not only been riding it to work everyday (I found they don't like to sit more than a week and I want it to start and run good if someone actually wants to buy it) I've also recently installed saddle bags on it so I don't have to bungie my laptop to the backseat. Although it doesn't have the zip of my big cruiser, I am re-discovering the joys of 60+ mpg and regular gas.

Plus it splits lanes much easier than the Strat.

They are really fine bikes, for what they are.
Anywhere but the interstate and they are fun.
