Hello All! Greeting from the US Northwest!
Hello
I'm Santos but you can call me OC Covey. I am steadily trying to complete my first year with my the '08 'Blue GooZe'. He was in an accident three weeks ago but he's ok. Recooperating at the local collision shop. Have been pondering about revamping him to fit around the nostalgic 40's era, since its already sporting the fender flares. Which is how I stumbled upon this great site, glad to be here. Maybe I'll get some ideas from the gang and order some swappable parts from other manufacturers like the Hyosung's GV250 rear fender and maybe weld in a post for a springer seat and some floorboards. Any help or links to these products would be great. Also, want to see if any other NWesterners are in my area to ride together or hang out. Thanks, I'll keep you all posted on the GooZe's recovery. http://www.postimage.org/aV1QpUYJ.jpg |

How's the rest of the bike?
Talk to Busyweb. he lives in LA but he might just pop up to see you some Saturday. (Biz, it's only, like 1200 miles or so.) |

Welcome to the jungle. |
Re: Hello All! Greeting from the US Northwest!
hey,
Thanks guys. The rest of the bike is A-ok except for the handlebars and gas tank and saddle bags and....lol. Anyways, I'm getting some 4" high handle bars put on the bike from the standard 6" but I saw one of the members with really low bars, looked like 2"? I'm about 6' is it wise for me to drop in handlebar height? OC |
Re: Hello All! Greeting from the US Northwest!
I'm 5'11'' and I wouldn't drop even from the standard. But to each his own.

This is mine, and they're awesome. They make the bike much easier to handle I think.

But you have never rode a GZ with stock bars on it though have you? We really need someone who has actually switched theirs out, for a pro-con comparision. But I do like the way your bars look, WAY better than stock. |
Re: Hello All! Greeting from the US Northwest!
Correct. I still like it though.

I'm just guessing here because I have never ridden anything EXCEPT the stock bars but I somehow can't imagine the GZ getting any easier to handle than stock. And maybe it's just ME but I can't get real excited about how a set of BARS **LOOKS**.  |

Hello...
Welcome here!!! Sorry to hear that you had some problems with bike. But I'm sure that GZ will be Up-And-Run again well. For the Handle-Bar.. Unless want to have some neat-looking bike and some more better speedy handling, I dare to recommand Higher one for comfort riding. Mine(second owner) was little bit lowered one, and looks a tiny littleeee bit better than stock equipped bike. As you are a 6 feet tall; I'm 5' 11''; you may have to lean your upper body little when riding with lower bars. It will cause some discomfort for the long hour ridings. But it's up to you what to choose. Just for my small experienced comments about handle bar. Quote:
ha ha ha, you make me a day.. I'm laughing still, while writing this... ha ha ha.. BUT, who knows that I'll try it later on.... he he he.... |
