"New" Saddle Bags
Installed the branded bags I got from version on this board.

You can also see the plugs in the exhaust in the second picture. |
BEAUTIFUL BIKE PATRICK
WOW, Patrick, that bike is beautiful! Fabulous color pattern....I love the saddle bags too. Where did you buy them? I might buy some for my GZ...I've been riding the V Star lately, but will ride the GZ to work. Need something for my lunch! Can you fit a small lunch bag in the size you bought?
Thanks |

http://www.postimage.org/Pq1TNG7S.jpg As you can see, they are big enough to carry two half-gallons of milk each with room to spare on the side and on top. I bought them from a user here who is parting out his bike in the For Sale forum. You can buy Suzuki branded bags off eBay for under $100 (here's one auction now) and if you don't get the brackets with them, then you can make your own on the cheap with Tonckawa's how-to on this board: http://www.gz250bike.com/viewtopic.php?t=961 |

ok cool
thanks |
Man, my plugs have fallen out twice now. What kind of bolts are you using? I get them in there pretty good and they still end up disappearing.
|
I tapped it and then used basic M8-1.25 bolts from Lowe's (a whopping $.14 each) and some blue Loctite. That's probably what's keeping them in there good.
Then I sprayed with heat resistant paint (for grills), which I love the look of. Hell, I considered murdering the whole bike out after spraying that little bit. |
Are they sunk into the plate inside the muffler that you can't see, or are you just using the threads and loctite?
Those are good looking bags by the way. |
No. Just tapped the holes and put them in. They are 30mm length though I think, but they seem to be holding pretty well.
