help in removing footpegs

hello everyone,
i have a question. i need to remove the foot pegs because i brought new ones. i was looking under the bike and saw the pins in the pegs. so i hit the underside of the pin and the pin won't move. so guys can you please tell me how to remove the foot pegs. thank you rica
