Good job..... Looks great....
Well done!!!!..... |
Re: Mine tranformed
I like it. It that an Acerbis headlight/fairing?
|
Re: Mine tranformed
Love that front view! Wicked headlight look!
|
Re: Mine tranformed
Looks great. How does it perform with the 145 MJ?
|
Re: Mine tranformed
The headlight/fairing is by BikeIt and it's called the Rage.
The bike performs great with the 145MJ, I was going to put a 150 in but could not find any locally. With all of the combined power mods it doesn't even feel like the same bike. |
Re: Mine tranformed
Looks great, nice job - lean & mean. I can't believe you did that for only $300.
How did you prep the chrome on the pipes and muffler and what kind of paint did you use? I like that look and from living on the Gulf coast with all the moisture and salt in the air, my pipes are a little rusted, too much to clean off and shine. |
Re: Mine tranformed
Thanks guys
For the pipes I went over them really good with a green scotchbrite pad then used VHT high temp exhaust paint I paid $100 for the paint and supplies I paid $200 for the fairing/headlight, bars, grips, sprocket, main jet, tail and turn signals. The M109 mirrors and Harley muffler were free. Being able to do all the work myself- priceless |
Re: Mine tranformed
Hi Shawn. Nice looking bike! I did the same engine mods to my 2001 and I have to agree with you, it feels like a total different bike! Ride safe... David Bo

I took everything off when I painted it. I had to pretty much strip the take because the stock stickers are clear coated on the tank. I just cut the rear fender and made a bracket to hold the brake light. |
Re: Mine tranformed
Looks Great!
How does it sound with the Harley Muff? |
Re: Mine tranformed
Main Jet? What's that?
|
Re: Mine tranformed
NICE LOOK,Ur talented! good to know about the pipes -i'm in FLA like MRLMD1, so rust is an issue.
|
Re: Mine tranformed
It sounds great with the Harley Muffler, lounder than stock but not annoying.
The main jet is in the carb for fuel metering. |
Re: Mine tranformed
If you have the info - What are the dimensions on the bar or what is the make / model? I'm interested in replacing the stock bar with something lower, but don't want to adversely affect the comfort. How do you like the new riding position, or is this merely about aesthetics?
|
Re: Mine tranformed
There are the bars that I got http://moto-madness.com/catalog/index.p ... cts_id=316
The riding position is a lot better for me, not so squished. |
Re: Mine tranformed
Wow, gorgeous! I knew these bikes had a lot of potential! I have been thinking of ways to modify the aesthetics and this is similar to what i would do. l love it! Aggressive/contemporary yet classic styling. Job very well done!!

Re: Mine tranformed
Nice I noticed the Texas op whereabouts in Texas. I like the head light but will it pass inspection does it have brights and dims. I need new lights all and this setup is an all in one and rakes up the ugly space.
|
Re: Mine tranformed
Thanks for the comments guys. I"m in Plano. The head light should pass, I used some relays and wired it so only one light comes on on low and both when I switch to brights.
|
Re: Mine tranformed
Great I wrecked my bike and need all new lights and I don't have a speedo anymore so one of these type of lights tucked in would look great. Ill use a gps for a speedo, did u have to make some more mounts under the seat somewhere for the back fender to make it sturdy or do u only have the front 2 bolts holdin it on.
|
Re: Mine tranformed
I'm just using the two bolts on the side. With the seat off it's kinda flimsy but once you put the seat on it stiffens everything up.

Re: Mine tranformed
Do you by any chance have a video of the bike. I would love to hear the way it sounds.
|
Re: Mine tranformed
I love what you've done to your GZ250!! I don't like the stock handlebars at all.The ones you put on fit the bike much better.
How did you trim the fenders? jon |
Re: Mine tranformed
What did you have to cut and weld with that Harley muffler to get it on properly, and exactly what kind of muffler is it? Your bike is really nice looking, i love it.
